You know that feeling when you walk on a street with pretty flowers and soulful architecture? I love what those moments of appreciation do to me. If you are an art lover like me, no doubt you will be seduced by the charm of Pondicherry.
Pondicherry, fondly known as Pondy and officially known as Puducherry (meaning “new town or settlement”), is a Union territory with a strong colonial past. The place is vibrant with speculative ethnology. It’s fascinating to hear stories of its colonial past which dates back to the 1st century AD, before the time when Romans came to Pondicherry to trade. Exploring Pondy’s history is fun.
Let’s talk about the reasons that make Puducherry a.k.a Pondicherry special for art lovers, those that embrace imagination. Pondicherry through my lens is colourful:
P – Pink
O – Orange
N – Navy Blue
D – Dark Black
I – Indigo
C – Cream
H – Hazel & Honey
E – Emerald
R – Red
R – Rust Brown
Y – Yellow
Read up to understand these colours better.

Observe the earth in these landscapes. Now close your eyes, imagine these portraits without the orange shades. Open your eyes. What do you think? The orange mud belts artfully complete these landscapes.

Navy Blues and all that jazz
As the Parisian lamps on the streets of Pondicherry whisper to you, take a walk on the bridge, sit on the edge for hours, or get down, take a boat and row away. Go gentle into that sunset, dear art lover. This is your evening!
It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done. ―Vincent van Gogh
Dark Black silhouettes

Silhouettes remain incomplete without pictures. These captured moments behold unusual fascination. With unconditional love, we become silhouettes. The brightness of affection erases all, except the outline and shadows, making us the subject of focus. Stay astonished!
What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.―Karl Lagerfeld
